We have been together for 25 years, and very early in the relationship, we realised that we both had a passion for our four legged friends. Our first love was boxers, and we had 2 girls Molly & Kez. Molly was the last boxer to leave us, and she passed away a few years ago, at 12 years old, after a long and happy life.
In England, we both work in the entertainment industry, which was fantastic, as most of our work fell on weekends. This meant that we could spend all week at home with the dogs ! The first Shar Pei we invited in to our home was Magic.... She was not a puppy when we got her, as her owners needed to find her somewhere else to live ! We thought that we would give her a loving home with us. From there we got Lola, and then bred & kept MJ and Skye. We have run our own businesses for the last 15 years, a smallholding, then a public house, and in recent years, our own entertainment company. |
On the smallholding we kept & bred Suffolk sheep, geese, and various pure breed of poultry. We still keep chickens today, everyone should.... There is nothing better than a fresh egg from your own hens.
I only keep a few hens currently. there is nothing better than your own fresh eggs. Chickens are a wonderful pet, and once you have had them for a while it really is easy to see where the phrases 'hen pecked', and 'pecking order' come from ! |
We lived in East Yorkshire for many, many years, and recently lived in a small village in a converted Old Chapel. We then moved inland from the Costa Del Sol, in the countryside or 'campo' as it's called here. Our garden is big enough for the dogs to all play in. Its a lovely quiet area with miles & miles of countryside walks. It did not take long for the dogs to adjust to the heat in Spain, in fact I think they deal with it better than we did !

5 years on, we are back in the UK.... I don't think we are done with Spain, and I'm sure we will return in the future. Currently we have spent the last few years in North Yorkshire, just outside of Pickering. We love life with our Shar Pei, they really are a wonderful breed. They all have different personalities, and quirks.... We love the breed, and can't imagine life without our dogs.
